Cell phone signal boosters “harness” and amplify weak cellular signal by broadcasting it into places where voice/data connections are weak. Our products connect to cell towers, some at impressive distances, and broadcast the signal into spaces where you need signal the most like your home, vehicle, office, or commercial venue space.
SureCallBoost.com Signal Booster FAQs
What is a cell phone signal booster, and how does it work?
Why should I consider using a SureCall cell phone signal booster?
SureCall has produced many category-leading signal boosters since 2001 when the founder, CEO, and pioneering engineer Hongtao Zhan started selling his signal amplification products out of the trunk of his car. SureCall, formerly CellMate, is the very definition of the American dream and still carries on in Hong’s entrepreneurial spirit. Today, SureCall has over a dozen patents and nine additional patents pending. SureCall, in some form, has been boosting peoples' cellular signal for 20+ years now.
Will a SureCall signal booster work with my specific cell phone carrier?
Our products work for all major North American wireless networks including AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Xfinity, Mint, US Cellular, and a few others.
Do I need any special tools or technical skills to install a SureCall booster?
For our residential/home and small business products, there aren’t any specialized skills you’ll need to install your SureCall signal booster. For the best results, you’ll need a ladder or way to access your roof to mount the exterior antenna. Depending on your location and proximity to the nearest cell tower, you may be able to get away with mounting your exterior antenna on a short pole, the edge of your roof, or railing outside your home. Knowing your way around a hammer, screwdriver, or a drill would be helpful.
For our home and small business signal booster systems, this is our rule of thumb: if you can put up Christmas lights, you shouldn’t have any issues with the installation, but if you have any questions AT ALL, please reach out to us for assistance.
What types of signal boosters does SureCall offer, and which one is best for me?
There is a signal booster for every use case. They’ll boost signal in single family homes ranging between 3,500 - 6,000 sq. ft. comfortably in the right conditions. We offer large home and small office systems that can boost your signal in spaces up to 20,000 sq. ft. with the right conditions. If you aren’t sure which works best, you know the drill, please get in touch so we can make sure you have the right system for your needs.

Will a SureCall booster improve both voice and data signal quality?
Yes, for a full rundown of the bands and carriers you’ll boost with our systems, please consult the user guides for each product. Quality of phone calls and improved data signal are two of the main benefits of using SureCall products.
Also, if you always drop calls or experience molasses-in- January slow data speeds, you read through our best explanation why your phone keeps dropping calls here.
Is it legal to use a cell phone signal booster like SureCall's?
It is. All of our equipment has been certified by the FCC. We are confident that our equipment is safe for wireless networks and infrastructure, your phone, and will improve your cellular performance at home, on the road, or in a commercial setting.
What kind of coverage area can I expect from a SureCall booster?
Your coverage area is based on a number of different factors. The most important indicator for your coverage area is the existing signal strength in your location. For example, the Flare IQ could have a coverage area range of 1,500 sq feet to 3,500 sq feet.
If you only have one bar outside your home, you can expect to boost signal in a 1,500 sq ft home, but if the strength is a full five bars, then you can expect the Flare to cover up to 3,500 sq ft. Many customers have signal outside their homes, but building materials like metal or glass and home layouts may reduce your signal strength inside the home.
Will a SureCall booster work in rural or remote areas with weak signals?
YES! Most of the users who purchase our products are located farther away from cell towers. Our equipment, specifically our systems that use a yagi antenna, are rated to broadcast signal from towers up to five miles away. However, we have field-tested these systems and boosted call and data strength in homes up to 12 miles from the closest cell tower.
The top-performing home signal booster for rural settings is the Fusion4Home Max.
SureCall boosters are great for staying connected especially if you work or run a business from your home and WiFi or satellite internet aren’t readily available.
Can I use a SureCall booster in a multi-story building?
For a multistory commercial building, there are a few options for increasing your signal. We suggest running multiple cables to multiple antennas on different floors of your building. For a commercial structure, we suggest starting with the Fusion5X 2.0 that comfortably supports up to four antennas. You can place two antennas on two floors that can broadcast signal in a space up to 20,000 sq ft under the right signal conditions.
How do I install a SureCall booster in my vehicle?
There are a few different models of SureCall vehicle boosters that work based on your use case, but require a different type of installation. For all products, we suggest you reference the installation guides for your individual product selection.
The SureCall N-Range 2.0 has a very simplified installation, but only covers a single device since it uses a cradle to boost the signal in your vehicle.
The Fusion2Go RV requires a mount for the outside of your RV, but uses a whip antenna that mounts directly to the amplifier (booster) unit.
The Fusion2Go OTR, 3.0, Max, and NMO/Fleet all use a outside antenna, amplifier (booster), and indoor patch antenna configurations.
Do I need to register my SureCall signal booster with my cell phone carrier?
Yes, registering your signal booster is an important part of the process when you receive your product. To make it easy, here are the online registration links for the major N. American wireless carriers:
Will a SureCall booster work with all cell phone models and brands?
The short answer: yes.
The longer answer: yes, SureCall signal boosters work for all major cell phone makers: Apple, Samsung, Google, Huawei, Nokia, LG, and even Blackberry! Our signal boosters are compatible with many other devices that receive cellular signal like cellular routers, tablets, and other wearables like Apple Watch, etc.
Additional considerations: the age and operating system of your device and many other factors including, but not limited to failed SIM cards, cell-blocking building materials, network congestion, distance/proximity to your nearest cell tower, elevated signal “noise”, and even the weather can factor in the signal strength you have in your location.
Summary: you may have a new phone, new operating system, and very strong cellular signal where you live, but you may still require a signal booster in your home or signal booster system in your office to broadcast your strong outside signal inside.
What kind of antennas come with a SureCall signal booster kit?
We have several different antenna configurations, depending on your settings and existing signal conditions. These are some of the use cases for our different antenna options:
Dome antennas are suited for ceiling installations in spaces where you need better signal. The dome sends signal downward/outward omnidirectionally. This works best in large areas where you have access to the space above your ceiling.
Panel antenna installations give you considerable configuration flexibility, as they can be mounted to a wall, in a hallway, or even a ceiling using the mounting bracket that is included with the kit.
Ultra-thin indoor antennas have a few advantages beyond the lower-profile. The Ultra-thin can reach up to +6 dBi where the standard dome gets +3 dBi. In layman’s terms, a +3 dB gain is similar to doubling the signal strength in your space, a huge deal.
Yagi antennas are best suited for rural and suburban locations where your home or office may be a few miles from the nearest cell tower - off the beaten path. We have tested these products in a wide variety of conditions, and the Fusion5X 2.0 will boost signal from towers that are up to 10 miles away. Please consider that not all signal conditions are created equal, so these results may vary.
Omni antennas are omnidirectional so your antenna positioning is less important. Our omni antenna will perform well in urban and some suburban locations where your nearest cell tower is close by. As with any antenna, you’ll be better off mounting wherever your signal is strongest.
Can I use a SureCall signal booster for my small business or office?
Yes! These are our most popular small business and office systems for small to medium sized commercial spaces:
SureCall Fusion5s 2.0 - covers up to 10,000 sq ft in the right conditions and supports up to two antennas
SureCall Fusion5X 2.0 - covers up to 20,000 sq ft in the right conditions and supports up to four antennas
